Thanksgiving Thank you Freebie!

This week my TPT store celebrated a big milestone.  I made my 100th sale!  Woohoo!  To celebrate I decided to make my newest set of centers a freebie to thank all of the people who have visited my site and used my items with their students.  Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I made these centers with a Thanksgiving theme.  There are four math centers you can use with your students.  I set up the 4 stations around the room and have my students rotate to each station.

Please leave feedback.  I love hearing from people who are using my items in their classrooms.  While you are there, click the start to favorite my page and get updates when I add new stuff to the store.

A "Sweet" Math Center Freebie!

I saw these cute little candy bag graphics from Creative Clips and just knew exactly what I wanted to make with them.  It's a "sweet" math center for your students to use during center time or as an "I'm finished, what can I do now?" activity.  The activity gives students a chance to practice solving addition problems involving three addends.  A recording sheet is included if you want to use the center as an assessment.  I've also included two practice worksheets to help your students get more practice with adding three numbers.
I'm making this a Freebie over in my TPT store.  Head on over and download it now.  Please follow and share it with other teachers you know who might enjoy a "sweet" little activity for their class.  I'd love it if you left some feedback to let me know what you think.  I love hearing from the teachers who use my products in their classrooms!

Journeys Spelling Word Cards

I've got my very first second grade item ready to go. Since I'm in a new grade I needed to make a new set of Spelling Word Cards for my pocket chart. We use the Journeys series so I typed up all of the spelling words for the year. (I'll be busy printing and cutting for a while!) I made this set with black and white word cards with the challenge words on red bordered cards. The set also includes worksheets: a Spelling Sentence worksheet, an ABC Order worksheet and a Spelling Test worksheet. They are decorated with cute apples, stars and pencils from Creative Clips.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

There's about to be a big change over here at The Teddy Bear Classroom. I'll be switching grade levels in September. I've been teaching first grade for the past 16 years and have absolutely loved it! I always wanted to be a first grade teacher so I was thrilled when that was where I ended up when I was first hired. This year I'll be leaving my classroom (don't worry, the teddy bears will be coming with me!) and moving schools and moving to second grade. I've been busy making new things to use with my new grade level and will be posting them here on the blog and in my TPT store as I get them ready.
I've been busy surfing the web looking for some great second grade teacher blogs to follow. If you have a second grade blog or if you know of one I should be following, please let me so that I can follow it.

Easter Centers and a Freebie!

To celebrate the fact that spring has finally arrived, I have a new freebie in my TPT store.  It's a Making Ten Strategy Center with an Easter theme.  It's just one part of a collection of 4 centers I just posted called Easter Math Centers.  It's free so why not check it out!  Please leave me some feedback if you download.  I love hearing from other teachers who are able to use things I've made!

I made the Easter themed math centers for my class to use this week and they absolutely loved them.  They're getting pretty good at working with fact families and just loved them.   The centers are quick to make and easy to use.  Hopefully your students will love them as much as my little first graders did.

Snow Day!

It's a Snow Day here in South Jersey for the second day in a row.  Since I got the driveway cleared yesterday, I'm enjoying staying in and avoiding the frigid temperatures outside.  To pass the time, I made up another Making 10 Strategy Center.  This one has an Easter theme and is so cute with it's adorable graphics from MyCuteGraphics.com.  I hope you can use it with your class when Spring finally arrives!

Sentence Fix-Up Centers with Long Vowel Sounds

Are your students always forgetting about capital letters and punctuation when writing their sentences? I made up these centers for my kids to practice using proper capitalization and punctuation in their sentences. The centers are super easy to use. Simply print out the sentence strips, cut out, laminate (ah, lamination....I just love it!) and put them in a pocket chart. Print out the recording sheet that comes with each center, copy and pop it in a bin at your center and you are all set to go. The kids simply read each sentence and then rewrite each sentence correctly on the corresponding line on the recording sheet. I made 5 different centers which each feature a different long vowel sound. I'll be starting with the long a sentences this week because it will help to review the new a-e pattern we learned last week in class.

I currently have 5 different Sentence Fix-Up Centers (one for each long vowel sound) available in my TPT store.  Click here to check them on.
Here's a picture of my sentence strips in my DIY pocket chart I made to match my classroom color scheme.  (Yes, I know I need to get out more...I've already been told, but isn't it pretty?!?)  Sorry about the glare.  I was in a rush to get out before the snow storm got worse yesterday.
